ABOUT

We met our client through a company who advise startups Daya ventures. Our client is a doctor, she wants to create an app for young girls who are in need of help due to their mental health.

Problem
The client identified a flaw in the Swedish health care system which affects young girls who aren't doing well mentally. This app wants to solve the issue by being available for everyone and work as an aid until you can get help in person, or maybe not have to after using the app. A top priority for our client was to be trustworthy and evidence-based content.
Process

We kicked off with a workshop with our client as this was in the early stages of development where the full scope of the app was not established. The workshop gave us the opportunity to guide our client through all the possibilities and ideas. We then used MoSCoW to prioritise what would be included.

We focused a lot on ideation and creating a smart and well thought out solution with the seed growing into a flower along with your improvement and advancement through the app. This was to symbolise the users health. We chose to use the seed as a mascot too. Pontus was our illustrator and developed all illustrations.

We developed wireframes and a few different design themes to show the client to sync. With continuous contact and feedback with our client we could reach a very high fidelity design and prototype by the end of our project at five weeks.

We gave the colors a lot of thought and as group of four we had a lot of opinions which was a challenge. We created a style each and presented to the client to decide. The client appreciated different things with the different designs and we chose to combine them. We worked better after a few guidelines were set. The client wanted a lot of color and an energized feel to it which inspired us to add a gradient. We took inspiration from the sunset and creating this warm feeling of trust and comfortability. For the font we chose Poppins within the app to give a modern feel and it also went well together with the colors and vibe with its clean and friendly appearance.

Key insights
We were very happy with the results, as was our client who decided to purchase our work. We had set ambitious goals for the project, which in retrospect, we should have assessed the client's readiness before committing to them. The client required more low-fidelity wireframes initially, but they were also eager to witness our creative potential. Despite the tight timeframe of five weeks, we poured our dedication into the design, fueled by our passion and anticipation for the project's outcome. Nevertheless, we effectively guided our client through the initial phases and prioritized features for the MVP App. I firmly believe that we laid a solid foundation for the app and delivered an impressive MVP to present to investors, providing a groundwork for future iterations of the app's design.
