I started my internship at Polestar 27th och November 2023 and will finish 31st of May 2024. I work alongside the UI designer Kim Niklasson for the App.
At Polestar I was a part of the design team and produced final designs for new app features. This process included conceptual designs, animations, iterations, deliveries and design reviews.The main challenge has been to meet stakeholder requirements while ensuring good UX and brand approval while also taking scalability into consideration and much more. Alongside this I have created a component library for the app in figma, which will live on after my internship to streamline the design process and align code to design.
During my internship at Polestar, I gained valuable experience in professional digital design, working with structured design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and scalability across projects. I deepened my skills in Figma and prototyping while applying user-centered design principles to enhance usability and customer experience. Collaborating in cross-functional teams gave me insight into agile workflows, stakeholder communication, and the importance of effective feedback loops.
The internship also sharpened my attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, high-quality assets aligned with brand and functional requirements. Beyond design, I developed a deeper understanding of how sustainability and innovation are integrated into the automotive industry and how digital design plays a key role in communicating these values.
